I only collect information you choose to give me:
I do not use advertising trackers, and I do not build profiles of visitors.
To reply to you, to discuss whether I'm the right fit, and — if we go on to work together — to carry out the work we've agreed. Nothing else. I will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask me to.
Where you contact me about working together, I process your information on the basis of my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, and once we're engaged, on the basis of performing our contract. Where you consent to something specific, that consent is the basis, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Formspree, Calendly and GitHub are United States companies, so sending the form, booking a call or simply loading this page involves a transfer of information outside the UK. Each of them covers those transfers with a safeguard UK law recognises — standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum, or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. My email is hosted in the EU, so anything you send me directly stays within the UK and EU. If you would rather not use a service that involves a transfer, email me instead of using the booking link.
If we work together, I will handle your correspondence, contracts, artist relationships and financial records. All of it stays confidential, during the engagement and afterwards. I do not discuss client business publicly, and I do not use client names as references without asking first.
Where that work involves other people's personal data — a mailing list, ticket buyers, performers, staff — I'm handling it on the client's behalf rather than for my own purposes. The law calls that being a processor, and it means I only do what the client instructs. We sign a data processing agreement covering it, and the client's own privacy policy, not this one, is what tells those people how their data is used.
Your information sits on password-protected, encrypted devices and in accounts with two-factor authentication switched on wherever it is offered. No system is completely secure, so I also hold as little as possible and delete what I no longer need.
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. My own business records — invoices, contracts, and the correspondence showing what was agreed — are kept for six years, then deleted. That covers HMRC's record-keeping rules and the period in which a contract claim can still be brought. Personal data I handle on a client's behalf is different: that goes back to them or is deleted within 30 days of the work ending, and I keep none of it.
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy to take elsewhere. You can also object to how I'm using it, or ask me to stop using it while a question about it is resolved. Email hello@arte-via.uk and I'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
This site does not set cookies of its own. It also makes no third-party requests at all — the fonts, styles and scripts are served from this site rather than from someone else's network, so simply reading a page tells no one but the host that you were here. The enquiry form is plain HTML with no third-party script behind it, so nothing reaches Formspree until you press send. If you follow the scheduling link, that service may set its own cookies once you arrive; see its policy for details.
Where this site links elsewhere — a scheduling tool, an organisation I've worked with — those sites have their own policies, and I am not responsible for how they handle your information.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
